Saskatchewan-born musician, Cameron Breiter (he/him) is a sought after as an orchestral musician, chamber musician, soloist, and teacher. He is currently based in Toronto, ON, where he performs as a freelance orchestral and chamber musician.

Before the double bass, Cameron began his musical journey with the bass guitar playing a variety of styles at a young age. Cameron later started playing the double bass at the age of seventeen, with beginning his studies with former Principal Bass of the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra, Richard Carnegie. Cameron completed his Bachelor of Music Honours degree at the University of Saskatchewan in 2021. Cameron is currently attending The Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music, where he is obtaining his Artist Diploma and studying with Jeffrey Beecher, Principal Bass of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.

Cameron has performed with a wide variety of ensembles including the Saskatoon Youth Orchestra directed by Richard Carnegie from 2017-2024, where in the 2022-23 season he performed Serge Koussevitzky's Concerto for Double Bass as soloist, and as a frequent guest musician with the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra. Cameron has also played in several other ensembles including the Thomastik-Infeld Canadian String Orchestra in 2018, 2020-22 directed by Mark Skazintesky, Alexander Shelley, and Naomi Woo, the National Youth Orchestra of Canada directed by Sascha Goetzel in 2022-23 and with Naomi Woo in 2024-25, Prairie Virtuosi since 2024, and with the Art of Time Ensemble with their final production Sankofa: The Soldier’s Tale Retold.

Outside of music making and playing the bass, Cameron likes to go on walks by the Saskatchewan River, eat ice-cream with friends, and binge-watch The Lord of the Rings films (only the extended versions!).
